This past weekend, the GXA Kenya team had the incredible privilege of spending a day with 40 exceptional students: 20 boys from Starehe Boys Centre and 20 girls from Starehe Girls Centre whose high school education we proudly sponsor. It was more than just a visit; it was a celebration of potential, purpose, and the power of education.
As captured in the vibrant collage of moments from the day, the atmosphere was electric with hope and ambition. From the iconic “NATULENGE JUU (Meaning Aim Higher)” crest that greeted us at the gates to the warm smiles of students in their red and black uniforms, every detail reminded us why we do what we do.
Our CEO, Mr. George Makaye, led a powerful motivational session that left a lasting impression. Standing before these future leaders, he shared a message that resonated deeply: “Where you come from does not define where you’re going.” His words echoed the spirit of resilience and determination that defines the Starehe legacy.
The day was filled with more than just speeches. There were moments of laughter over shared meals, thoughtful questions during Q&A sessions, and even a virtual presentation that connected the students to a broader world of possibilities.
